Durthu

Durthu is the eldest of all the tree-spirits, an Ancient so old that he alone among the Sylvaneth is said to carry memories of the World-That-Was, the paradise lost to fire and ruin an age ago. That memory is also his torment, for Durthu has watched forest after forest fall to axe, flame and the corruption of Chaos, and each loss has stoked in him a slow and terrible wrath. Once a wise and gentle guardian, he has been wounded and betrayed so often that fury now smoulders where patience used to grow, and he is roused to war more readily than any of his kind. In battle Durthu is a force of apocalyptic violence, wielding a blazing sword of ancient sigmarite and crushing all before him beneath boughs like falling towers. Even the Everqueen Alarielle treats his rages with care, for his grief runs deeper than any healing spell can reach. Durthu fights not merely to win but to punish a world that has taken everything from him, and his enemies burn beneath the accumulated weight of ages of loss.
