Barak-Thryng, the City of the Ancestors, is the most stubborn and traditional of all the sky-ports, and wears the reputation as a badge of honour. When the other ports drew up the Kharadron Code and quietly filed their old gods away as superstition, Barak-Thryng never quite signed that clause. Its people still keep the ancient grudges, still honour the ancestor-gods of the duardin in open defiance of polite aether-society, and are ruled by grudge-settlers as old and unyielding as the mountain holds their forebears once kept.
They hold to the Code exactly, but to its letter, not its fashions. A Barak-Thryng captain will pursue a debt or fulfil a contract with a patience that outlasts empires, honouring the precise wording of an agreement centuries after the other party assumed it forgotten. The younger ports call them backward and hidebound, relics of holds long lost. The Thryngsons answer that a people who forget where they came from will not much care where they fall.
So Barak-Thryng stands as the conscience and the grudge-keeper of the Kharadron Overlords: the sky-port that carries the whole weight of duardin history aloft, and refuses, on principle, ever to set it down.

Barak-NarThe greatest of the sky-ports and the seat of Kharadron science, Barak-Nar holds more Geldraad seats than any rival and never lets them forget it. Its people prize reason, progress, and achievement above all: magic is distrusted, tradition is negotiable, and the only ancestor worth venerating is the one who filed the patent. Its fleets are the proof of its philosophy: the largest, the newest, and the most profitable in the skies.
Barak-UrbazThe Market City is the merchant heart of the Kharadron empire, where anything in the realms can be bought, sold, or profitably arbitraged. Its Aether-Khemists are acknowledged as the finest refiners aloft, wringing dividends from seams other ports would write off, and its docks welcome traders no other duardin would tolerate. In Barak-Urbaz the Code is less a law than an art form.
Barak-ZilfinThe Windswept City breeds the finest aeronauts in the Mortal Realms, and knows it. Zilfin captains read weather the way khemists read a ledger, coaxing speed and grace from their vessels that other ports flatly call impossible. When the great fleets muster, it is usually a Barak-Zilfin navigator who is asked to find the way.
