Terracotta Sentinels are the silent giants of the Celestial armies, colossal statues of baked clay, bronze, and jade wrought in the image of ancient warriors and set to guard the tombs and temples of the empire. Bound by potent astromantic sorcery, they stand motionless for centuries, until the harmony of Cathay is threatened, when the ritual-masters wake them and they march to war with the slow, unstoppable tread of moving mountains. No fear can touch them, no pain can slow them, and few weapons can so much as chip their ancient forms; they wade into the enemy's ranks and lay about them with fists and blades the size of tree-trunks, scattering warriors like leaves. Each is a revered relic of an older age, committed to battle only when the need is dire. To face one is to face the weight of Cathay's ages given form: a guardian that has stood since before your grandfathers were born, roused at last, and utterly without mercy.
