Leman Russ Tank

The Leman Russ is the main battle tank of the Astra Militarum and the armoured backbone of the Imperium's countless regiments. Rugged, reliable, and simple to produce, it is manufactured on an immense scale across thousands of worlds, making it perhaps the most numerous battle tank in the galaxy. Its heavy armour, powerful main gun, and array of secondary weapons allow it to trade blows with enemy armour, blast apart fortifications, and mow down advancing infantry.

Much of its ubiquity stems from its origins in a widely preserved Standard Template Construct design, robust enough to be built and maintained even on worlds with limited industry. This simplicity is a virtue in the endless wars of the Imperium, where machines must endure appalling conditions with minimal upkeep. The Leman Russ can keep fighting when more sophisticated vehicles would fail.

A vast family of variants shares its dependable chassis, each mounting different weapons for roles ranging from close infantry support to long-range tank hunting and siege bombardment.
