The Long War

The Long War is the eternal, hate-fuelled crusade waged by the Chaos Space Marines against the Imperium of Man and its false Emperor. Born in the fires of the Horus Heresy ten thousand years ago, it is the enduring conflict that gives purpose to the Traitor Legions, a war they have vowed never to abandon until the Imperium lies in ruin.

For the Heretic Astartes, the Long War is more than a military campaign; it is a creed and an obsession. Having been cast down and driven into the Eye of Terror, they nurse a bitterness that has festered across the millennia. Each raid, each incursion, each desperate assault upon the realms of Mankind is another blow struck in a grudge that time cannot dull.

Many Chaos warriors, twisted by the boons and curses of the Dark Gods, have fought the Long War for so long that they can barely recall the men they once were. It is a struggle without end, sustained by vengeance, ambition and the whispering promises of Chaos.
