Drach'nyen

Drach'nyen is not a sword so much as a wound in reality wearing the shape of one. Legend names it the manifestation of the first murder ever committed by human hands, a primordial crime that echoed into the warp and coalesced into a daemon of unspeakable age. It has worn a thousand forms across a thousand slaughters, and when it takes the shape of a blade its edge cuts through matter, time, and certainty alike.

Abaddon the Despoiler tore the daemon from the depths of the Eye of Terror in a duel that lasted a subjective eternity, binding its fury to his will. In his grip Drach'nyen wails with the voices of everyone it has ever slain, a chorus of the damned that unsettles even the hardened champions of the Chaos Space Marines. The blade whispers prophecy and poison in equal measure, forever seeking to unmake the one who holds it.

Against the warriors of the loyalist Space Marines and the walls of the Imperium's fortress worlds, Drach'nyen has proven capable of sundering that which should be unbreakable. It parted the gates of more than one bastion during the Black Crusades, and where it strikes, reality itself seems reluctant to knit closed again. To the Despoiler it is both weapon and burden, an ancient sin that he has made the instrument of his eternal war.
