Legion Land Raider Proteus

The Legion Land Raider Proteus gave the Blood Angels a spear for the moments the sky could not serve, a heavily armoured assault transport that carried the Legion's finest through withering fire to the place where their blades would decide the battle. Not every warzone allowed a winged descent, and where the heavens were denied them the sons of Sanguinius still meant to close, trusting the Proteus to shrug aside the guns and deliver its passengers whole. The oldest of the great assault tanks, it bore an explorator array that let it range ahead of the host, and its crimson hull was kept as immaculate as any legionary's plate. Within it rode veterans hungry for the close kill, held back from the Red Thirst by discipline alone. Through the Heresy the Proteus carried the angels' chosen into fortress and stronghold, opening from within the walls that had thought themselves proof against the Ninth.
