Deathshroud Terminators

The Deathshroud hold a place of grim honour within the Death Guard, entrusted with the protection of the Legion's most vital figures. By ancient custom they never venture more than a set distance from the champion or commander they are bound to guard, forming an inner cordon of near-invincible warriors around him. Traditionally they are sworn to silence, their vows unbroken across the millennia, and they communicate only through gesture and grim, wordless resolve.

Encased in heavy Terminator plate and swollen with Nurgle's gifts, the Deathshroud are extraordinarily durable even by the standards of the Legion. A haze of disease and decay clings to them at all times, sickening any who draw near and marking their approach with the stench of the grave. They are as much a weapon as a shield, and enemies foolish enough to press an attack on the warlord they protect find themselves fighting through a wall of rotting death.

Their signature armament is the manreaper, a great two-handed scythe wielded with terrifying, patient precision. In the Deathshroud's grip these weapons harvest lives with the slow, deliberate efficiency of a reaper in a field, cutting down all who would threaten their charge. Loyal, silent, and all but unkillable, the Deathshroud are the last line no assassin or hero can easily cross.
