Legion Tactical Squad

A Legion Tactical Squad of the Space Wolves gave the lie to the Legion's barbarian reputation, for beneath the pelts and the saga-boasts stood disciplined Astartes as capable of a measured advance as any son of Guilliman. These squads held the line, laid down the disciplined bolter fire that pinned an enemy in place, and gave the Legion's wilder packs the room to hunt.

Yet even here the character of Fenris showed through. Space Wolves line squads fought with a restless aggression, forever leaning toward the moment the guns could be slung and the blades drawn, and their sergeants were chosen as much for cunning as for obedience. In the Heresy they were the steady foundation on which the Rout's more theatrical brutality was built, proof that the Emperor's executioners were a weapon of discipline as much as of fury.
