Where the Crisis suit favors mobility and the Stealth suit favors concealment, the Broadside battlesuit abandons both in favor of raw destructive potential. Bulkier and more heavily plated than any other suit in Fire caste service, the Broadside mounts a pair of massive railguns capable of engaging the heaviest enemy vehicles and monstrous xenos alike at ranges few other weapons in the T'au arsenal can match.

Pilots who graduate to the Broadside program are typically veterans who have already logged extensive time in more mobile suits, warriors trusted to hold a critical position and lay down sustained, accurate fire while more agile units maneuver around them. A Broadside team advancing in support of a Sa'cea Sept offensive is often the clearest sign that the empire intends to win a battle through sheer, unanswerable firepower rather than finesse.
