Where a lone bolter kills with precision, the storm bolter kills with abundance, drowning the foe beneath a hail of detonating shells that leaves nothing standing.

It is the honoured wargear of the Terminator veterans of the Space Marines, whose tactical dreadnought armour bears the weight and recoil that would shatter a lesser warrior. Sergeants, captains, and Chaplains likewise carry it as a mark of rank, its heavy report a herald of the Emperor's judgement upon a battlefield. Vehicles and gun-servitors mount it as a spitting deterrent against boarders and swarms.

Each weapon is a venerated machine, its twin spirits appeased by the Techmarines who bless its firing mechanism and inscribe litanies of accuracy along its casings.
