Marauder Horsemen

Marauder Horsemen are the swift-riding vanguard of the northern tribes, hard men and women of the Chaos wastes who learned to ride before they could walk. Lightly armoured and utterly fearless, they range far ahead of the slower Chaos hordes, scouting the land, screening the advance, and falling like wolves upon any prey too weak to fight back.

They fight in the manner of raiders rather than knights, wheeling and harrying at the gallop. Some hurl javelins and loose throwing-axes into the enemy before closing; others whirl vicious flails that shatter shields and skulls alike. Whatever the weapon, the Horsemen prize speed and cunning above brute force, striking where the foe is weakest and melting away before a counterblow can land. Marked by the Dark Gods from birth and hungry to prove themselves worthy of greater blessings, they wage war with reckless bravado, each rider certain that a spectacular enough kill will draw the gaze of the powers above, and with it the first step on the long, bloody Path to Glory.
