Chaos Knights are the hammer to the warriors' anvil. Man and mount alike are cased in fused black plate, and their chargers are horses only in outline: fire-eyed, iron-fanged creatures fed on things horses should refuse. When they lower their lances and commit, the sound is an avalanche of rolling iron, and battle-lines that held against everything else discover they are already running.
Every one of them is a knighthood inverted. Where the orders of Order swear to protect, Chaos Knights swear oaths of ruin: each pledge naming a city to burn or a bloodline to end, sworn before gods who collect. Many were nobility in the very realms they now terrorize, and the worst of them still keep the old courtesies, saluting the champions they are about to kill.
