Grave Guard

The Grave Guard are the hardened core of the deathrattle hosts, the barrow-kings' own household warriors risen once more to serve the vampire lords of the Soulblight Gravelords. In life they were champions and oath-sworn soldiers, buried with honour in their armour and arms; in death they retain a grim shadow of that martial skill, moving with a purpose the shambling zombie can never match. Clad in ancient plate and bearing wight blades wreathed in grave-cold magic, or great two-handed weapons that fall like a headsman's axe, they hold the line where lesser dead would break. No pain distracts them, no fear unsettles them, and no wound short of dismemberment slows their advance. Marshalled by a Wight King's iron will, a wall of Grave Guard is a bulwark that gives no ground, hacking down all who come against it with the patient, tireless rhythm of the tomb. They are proof that some soldiers never truly lay down their arms.
