Sydonian Dragoons

The Sydonian Dragoons represent the Mechanicus's answer to the need for swift battlefield mobility. Each Dragoon is a single Skitarius mounted upon a tall, spindly walking platform, its long legs allowing it to stride rapidly across broken ground and vault obstacles that would slow other forces. From this elevated vantage the rider drives the war-mount into combat with lance couched like a knight of old.

The taser lance is a fearsome close-combat weapon, discharging a violent surge of energy upon striking home that can drop even armoured foes with a single well-placed blow. Some Dragoons instead wield the radium jezzail, trading the shock of the charge for long-ranged, irradiating fire, but the classic Dragoon is a creature of the charge, using its speed to strike hard and then wheel away.

Deployed to outflank the enemy, seize objectives, and pursue broken units, the Sydonian Dragoons bring a rare turn of speed to the often ponderous Mechanicus war machine. Their striding advance is an unsettling sight, part cavalry and part insectile predator, and their sudden, electrifying charges can shatter enemy formations and sow chaos across the battle line.
