Corpuscarii Electro-Priests

Even among the strange creeds of the Adeptus Mechanicus, the Electro-Priests are a thing apart. They are devotees of the Motive Force, the sacred energy they hold to be the animating spark of the universe and the truest manifestation of the Omnissiah's will. Their flesh has been surgically remade to store and channel electricity, their skin threaded with conductive filigree and their nervous systems rebuilt to endure currents that would char a normal body to ash.

The Corpuscarii are the ranged congregation of this electric faith. Sheathed in electrostatic gauntlets, they draw power into themselves until they blaze with a corposant glow, then loose it in forking bolts that leap from priest to priest and target to target. To witness a Corpuscarii congregation advance is to see a walking thunderhead, lightning wreathing their upraised arms as they chant the litanies of the Motive Force in voices distorted by rapture.

There is no restraint in their manner of war, only devotion. Heedless of danger, they wade toward the enemy so that every foe falls within reach of their crackling discharge, trusting the sacred current to shield them as it slays their enemies. Whole battle lines have been reduced to smoking ruin by a single congregation in full ecstatic fervour, and those who face them speak of a light too bright to look upon and a sound like the sky tearing open. To the priests themselves, each kill is an act of worship, each bolt a hymn to the living god of the machine.
