No Legion loved the volatile majesty of plasma as the First did, and the Legion Tactical Support Squad was where that devotion took the field. Armed as one with plasma guns (or with rotor cannon, volkite, and flamer when the tactical situation demanded), these squads delivered a concentrated deluge of specialist fire that could gut a heavier formation in moments. The Dark Angels drilled such squads to the edge of ritual, each marine trusting his overcharging weapon the way a Calibanite knight once trusted his blade, willing to risk the plasma coil's wrath for the certainty of a slain foe. Advancing from Rhino or drop-pod at the chosen instant, they scoured the path for the Order's heavier brethren. To the hooded warriors of the First Legion, mastery of so temperamental a weapon was simply another proof of their disciplined supremacy.
