Where swifter Legions raced their Proteus tanks across open ground, the sons of Barbarus used theirs as a slow, inexorable battering ram, a moving fortress that advanced through shellfire and toxin cloud alike until its ramp fell amid the enemy line. The Death Guard did not win their battles quickly; they won them by refusing to stop, and the Proteus was endurance armoured in adamantium, carrying Mortarion's implacable warriors into the grinding close-quarters war they made their own.
