Deathshroud Terminator Squad

The Deathshroud stand as Mortarion's most intimate expression of what his Legion became, warriors granted the singular honor of guarding the primarch's own person and, in exchange, absorbing a portion of Nurgle's corruption more concentrated and more monstrous than that borne by ordinary legionaries. Wreathed in clouds of virulent, toxic mist that spreads outward from their armor with every step, the Deathshroud transform mere proximity into a weapon, their presence alone enough to wither and choke anything caught within the miasma's reach.

Armed with manreaper scythes that combine brutal melee lethality with the Legion's characteristic plague weaponry, Deathshroud Terminators fight in a close, protective formation around Mortarion whenever the primarch takes the field personally, an inner circle of horror that no attacker has ever successfully breached. Their loyalty to Mortarion mirrors the primarch's own consuming bitterness, warriors who have surrendered whatever remained of their humanity entirely to guarantee that their master, at least, need never again suffer betrayal from those closest to him.
