Atramentar

The Atramentar were the elite of the Eighth Legion, its First Company veterans armoured in heavy Terminator war-plate and counted among Konrad Curze's most trusted killers. Where the Legion's raptors and terror squads embodied speed and stealth, the Atramentar were its raw, unstoppable weight, a phalanx of midnight ceramite that advanced through the fiercest resistance without slowing.

They guarded the Legion's command and their primarch himself, and were unleashed when a foe needed not to be frightened but simply crushed. Clad in armour worked with images of nightmare and hung with the trophies of the slain, they carried the Night Lords' aesthetic of dread into the close press of battle, terrible to behold and worse to fight. Through the Heresy the Atramentar were the anvil against which Curze's swifter terror-troops broke the enemies of the Warmaster's cause.
