Pedro Kantor

Pedro Kantor is the twenty-ninth and current Chapter Master of the Crimson Fists, a lord who has held his office for nearly a standard century and who, more than any other, is responsible for the very survival of his Chapter. His name has become synonymous with defiance in the face of annihilation.

That reputation was forged in catastrophe. In 989.M41 the Ork warlord Snagrod, the Arch-Arsonist of Charadon, unleashed a colossal WAAAGH! upon the Crimson Fists' home world of Rynn's World. In the chaos of the invasion a defensive missile misfired and struck the Chapter's own fortress-monastery, detonating its armoury and obliterating the bulk of the Crimson Fists in a single apocalyptic instant. Where there had stood a proud Chapter, scarcely a company of survivors remained.

Amid that ruin, Kantor did not despair. Gathering the shattered remnants of his brotherhood, he waged a grinding war of survival, holding the wreckage of New Rynn City against the green tide through an eighteen-month siege until Imperial relief at last broke through. Bearing the venerated storm bolter known as Dorn's Arrow, named for the primarch whose blood the Crimson Fists share, and a crushing power fist, he was ever at the point of greatest danger, an unbreakable example to warriors who had lost everything. In the campaign to reclaim their world he sprang the devastating ambush remembered as the Battle of Traitor's Gorge, blunting the green tide and proving that even a broken Chapter could still bare its teeth.

In the long years since, Kantor has devoted himself to the painstaking rebuilding of the Crimson Fists, a labour measured in decades and paid for in blood. Grim, resolute and utterly unyielding, he embodies the stubborn heart of Rogal Dorn's lineage: the conviction that so long as a single brother stands, the Chapter is not yet beaten, and the fight is never truly over.
