Death Jester

The Death Jester is the grim marksman of the masque, a Player who has taken upon himself the role of death in the great myth-cycles. Where his fellows dance with blades, the Death Jester wields the shrieker cannon, a fearsome weapon that fires monofilament threads to shred a target apart or shrieker rounds that detonate within a victim's body, hurling gore across the ranks and sowing terror wherever they fall.

A Death Jester is a figure of macabre humour, delighting in the artistry of a well-placed kill and the panic it spreads among the enemy. He positions himself with cold precision, choosing his targets not merely to slay but to horrify, breaking the foe's courage even as he thins their numbers. Skull-masked and clad in the iconography of death, he is at once a jester and an executioner, and his black laughter echoes across the battlefield as the enemy learns to dread the crack of his weapon. To the masque he is the reminder, woven through every performance, that death has the final word.
