The Bladed Cog rose upon the forge worlds and Mechanicus holdings of the Imperium, and it wears the trappings of the Machine Cult as easily as any other brood wears the robes of an Imperial creed. Where the tech-priests it hides among preach the wholesale replacement of weak flesh with blessed steel, the Cog twists that doctrine only slightly, teaching that flesh is not to be discarded but tempered, hardened in the kiln of war until body and machine at last become one.
This philosophy makes for a brood that embraces augmetics without surrendering the mutant vitality of its bloodline. Its warriors march to battle as a mingling of the flesh-born and the cybernetically enhanced, cultists who have grafted industrial tools and salvaged war-gear to their bodies fighting shoulder to shoulder with unaltered hybrids. Command of manufactorum and forge grants the cult access to weaponry and armour that lesser broods can only covet from afar.
Above all it prizes the grim trophy at the heart of its greatest war-banner: the wired skeleton of the Tech-Priest Dominus Ovid Thrensiom, who ruled the cult's home world until the brood rose up and cast him down. That ghastly standard is carried at the forefront of every battle, a proclamation that the old masters of the machine have been overthrown and that a new and hungrier faith now rules the roaring foundries.
